Terms of Use
Mustard Tree is licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement,
which governs your use of the app:
apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula
The notes below describe how we run the service. Where they conflict with the agreement above, the agreement controls.
Subscriptions
Mustard Tree is one auto-renewing monthly subscription. The price and the length of any free trial are shown in the app before you pay. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and Apple charges your Apple ID at the start of each period. Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access through the period you have already paid for. Apple sells and bills the subscription, so Apple handles refunds, not us.
Your account
An account is required. Keep your sign-in method secure — anyone who can receive your email codes can reach your account. You may delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account.
Acceptable use
Use Mustard Tree for your own devotional reading. Do not attempt to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service, and do not use it to generate or distribute unlawful material. We limit how many devotionals an account can generate per day so that automated abuse cannot run up costs; ordinary reading never approaches those limits.
What the app generates
Devotional prose in Mustard Tree is written by an AI model. Scripture is not — every verse is rendered from the Bible version you select from the vetted translations stored inside the app, and the model is never asked to write, quote, or paraphrase verse text. Devotional writing is offered for reflection. It is not pastoral counselling, medical advice, mental-health treatment, or legal or financial advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
Availability
Creating a plan and writing each day require an internet connection and depend on services we do not control. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. If we discontinue it entirely, we will give reasonable notice and stop billing.
Content and ownership
What you write in the app — your check-in notes, your journey descriptions, your custom instructions — is yours. The app itself, its design, and its illustrations remain ours. Bible text is used under the terms of each translation’s licence.
Disclaimer and liability
Mustard Tree is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version at this address. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
